This hotel has a great location off the beach. They are right off the beach with a short walking distance onto the beach. The room we got was overlooking the ocean and the gulf coast. It was beautiful! We had beautiful views and it also overlooked the pool as well. The rooms were clean, except for the coffee pot. I guess they forgot to clean it for a while because Mold was already growing in it. So we couldn't make our own coffee. We only had one other complaint... the pool. It was merky & dirty the first time we stayed. It was a real shame because it was a beautifully nice pool size, with a separate bar section & the restaurant next it as well. You have service right off the pool for drinks & food. Which made this place really great. Everyone was super nice & we had a great time.

I was hesitant to stay here because of negative reviews, but I couldn't beat the price. We stayed for our 6th anniversary. I had a good time, everyone was friendly, and my dog had a great time. To address some of the bad reviews I read beforehand -- Some people said that their rooms were dirty and moldy. My room was clean and the only reason anything felt damp was that it was humid -- that's the ocean's fault. Regarding the shape of some rooms; yes, there were some cracks and water damage here and there -- but, not enough to complain about. If anything, the rooms were in better shape than a lot of the homes I've been to. Decor was dated, but I'm sure they'll be updated at some point. My original bed sheets didn't smell good or bad. They were just comfy hotel bed sheets. Since there were no room cleaning services, (assuming because of Covid), I had to ask for new sheets. Those new sheets smelled like fresh laundry and were delivered to our room within 30 minutes of asking. The showers -- Some people like their showers scorching hot, like my fiance. He took the first shower and said it was cold, I came to check and it was too hot for me! The only real setback I noticed in our shower was that the water pressure was really low. Low water pressure was fine for my hair since it's pretty thin, but anyone with thick hair might have a little trouble getting conditioner out quickly. My A/C unit was loud, but -- it didn't bother me and it actually sounded like ocean waves. Totally fine with me. The pool being renovated was quite sad as it looked beautiful, but what can ya do. I'd say that staying here after renovations, (March something), would be well worth the $60 resort fee. I can't honestly say I was totally happy with paying the resort fee since there were no resort amenities. I can't dock stars for this. My experience was still positive.

We were lucky enough to book a room within a couple weeks of a surprise birthday trip for my Amazing Wifey. Literally, only 2 rooms available when I looked them up. It’s our first time, but we have already made plans, with friends and family, to come back. The food was good, the facilities are great and the staff is amazing! Denise (server) is a true gem and made our visit a special one. Thank you Management (Dave and Roan) for making us feel like we were home away from. -fans for life

Best resort on the island by far! We actually switched here after 1 night at a separate hotel. The pool is beautiful. There’s lots of palm trees, plenty of chairs, and it’s always clean. We saw staff outside cleaning the pool area multiple times a day. The service at the swim up bar is great as well. Tony is the best! The food by the pool far exceeded my expectations. Nothing like the typical burger and hot dogs. My husband loved the Oyster Tacos (pictured below). The beach access path is lit up at night which is pretty and they have shower heads by the hotel area to clean off sand. The quality of stay at The Pearl is amazing for the price. We paid less to stay here than at the other hotel we originally booked and it’s far better. If you’re looking for a place to stay on the island, definitely pick this place!

It's been a few years since we stayed here. The atmosphere is relaxing the employees very friendly and professional. The view from the condo is excellent!! Really enjoying our time here. Rooms are neat and everything works. No complaints. I'd come back here in a minute. Keep up the good work Pearl South Padre Island.

Day 01 Review: Great location. The website over sold the ocean view - which is indeed very likely seen from all rooms - but not all rooms are equitable. The rooms are old and reflect that they certainly need the remodel this September. UPDATE 05/23: As long as you come here with an understanding that the place is old and some things in the hotel look a bit rough, you will have a FANTASTIC time! The beds were comfortable. The resort was absolutely wonderful! The staff was incredibly friendly at check-in, the pool, the pool-bar, the restaurants, and we will be more than happy to visit again after the renovations are done!

The stay here was great! We had a ocean view room. It was very accommodating. The only problem was our pull out sofa was broken and didn't open, and the toilet water tank stayed running loud for a long time.. but other then that the view was amazing. The king bed was very comfy as well. They had a heated pool and swim up bar too. I would say the pool wasn't as heated as expected. But overall it was a great stay. Would definitely return when we go back to south padre.

Our room wasn't ready at 4. We waited on the pool patio and had a margarita which was great. When we got to our room, it had an issue with the balcony. We were going to deal with it, and not use it, but later, we met the general manager in the elevator. He was so friendly and gave us his card in case we needed anything. After we got back to the room, we decided to call the front desk to see if we could move. They were so helpful and we were in another room within a half hour, and I didn't have to call the general manager or even mention that he said to let him know if we needed anything. We're looking forward to the rest of our 50th anniversary week.
